What's For Lunch

See link to Courier for monthly menu

Creamy casseroles, comforting soups or roasted chicken, the Colonial Club kitchen whips up tasty meals each day. Unlike lots of places, this food is made on site and served fresh and hot. Evoking memories of Mom's home-cooked meals, this is a cost effective option in providing a nutritious meal to those who may not have access to one.

How It Works

The Colonial Club Kitchen prepares daily noon meals for seniors to enjoy a delicious lunch and get involved with others in the many programs offered. We offer two dining centers one located in Colonial Club dining room, Monday through Friday. The other one is in Marshall on Tuesdays at the Marshall Area Community Center. All seniors are welcome, however, we need your reservation in advance! We also offer home delivered meals to older adults who are home bound.

How do you make or cancel a meal site reservation?

For any of our meal sites, contact the main office at Colonial Club or sign up at the meal site directly. To make or cancel a reservation, please call at least 24 hrs in advance and let us know which site you are interested in.

When and where are meals delivered?

A noon meal is available Monday through Friday in Sun Prairie and all of Northeast Dane County. Delivery times are 11:00 am to 1:00 pm., depending on your proximity to Colonial Club, chosen delivery route and road conditions.

Who We Can Help

The Colonial Club serves a nutritious noon meal to anyone age 60 or older at meal sites. For those who qualify, meals can be delivered. The Nutrition Program is available to residents of Sun Prairie, Cottage Grove, Marshall, Burke, Bristol, Deerfield, York, and Medina.

Who qualifies for the Home Delivered Meal Program?

There are a number of factors involved. The main factors are the person does need to be home-bound and age 60 and over. Please contact the nutrition coordinator for further information. Those that don't qualify for home delivered meals may choose to pay privately. Typically, individuals receive meals while recovering from an illness. Others may receive meals on a long -term basis.

How do you become a home delivered meal participant?

Contact the Nutrition Coordinator at Colonial Club to get started. You may choose the days you wish to receive meals. If you need to cancel a scheduled delivery, call the Nutrition Coordinator 24 hrs in advance.

How much will it cost?

The meals provided at senior dining sites, as well as meals that are home delivered are funded, in part, by the Older Americans Act. But we also rely on contributions from the folks who use the program to make up the balance of program costs. If you are age 60 or over, you are asked to contribute what you can afford toward the costs of these meals.

Many people ask, "How much should I contribute?"

Suggested Donation

The suggested minimum donation for those age 60 and older is $4.00 per meal, but please only pay what you can afford. Anyone under 60 is required to pay the full amount of the cost to provide the meal, which is $7.50 for meals at the Dining Site or $7.75 for a home-delivered meal..

The Senior Dining Program is a combined endeavor of Colonial Club Senior Activity Center and Dane County Department of Human Services. It is one of several supportive services offered by Colonial Club. Noon meals are available Monday through Friday. For any questions regarding our senior dining options, please contact our Nutrition Coordinator, Jean Detert at 837-4611 ext. 112 or email Jean at jdetert@colonialclub.org.
